Meeting & event management ![]() Mary O'Connor & Company offers a wide variety of services for meeting and event management. Our professional team is experienced in both front and back of the house operations. We enjoy the collaborative spirit that stems from combining our management team with the client's in-house team. When combining the in-house team with vendor partners and our management team, we act as the general contractor. Administration We have a team organization to coordinate meetings. Each account is assigned a project director who is the key contact between the client, the firm, and vendors. The project coordinator manages the daily operations of the account including registration, telephone reception, and correspondence. On-site, we add trip directors to the tier who have multiple years of on-site experience as well as registration coordinators who are at the front line to welcome conference participants. Our team has a unique balance of skills so that while on-site our experience ranges from former front office managers and hotel convention managers to executive assistants that can pull a PowerPoint together. The team can contract or expand, based on project activity, from two key managers to an unlimited number of support personnel. Green Meeting Legacy Project™ At Mary O’Connor and Co., we feel it is our responsibility to be good stewards of our environment. To this end, not only do we maintain and seek ecologically sound practices in our own office operations; but we also offer our clients the option to run a green meeting to whatever extent they choose. We are proud to refer to this as our Green Meeting Legacy Project™ with the goal of leaving each community having minimized the negative impact on the environment. When working with hotels, we build every detail of the green approach into the contract up front so that there will be no questions or surprises as the event runs or as it is closed down. As an example, when we have an opportunity to reduce waste by implementing water coolers instead of bottled water, we will specify that in our contract with the hotel. Other items that might be specified in a hotel contract are locally grown produce, biodegradable disposable dinnerware, extra food to a mutually agreed upon food depository or shelter and visible public area recycling. These are only a very few ideas excerpted from a detailed checklist that we would welcome the opportunity to discuss with you. Mary O’Connor and Co. is committed to:
We are most proud of a program we recently developed that is a favorite for us and, we expect, will quickly become a top request of our clients. Because every good story deserves a happy ending, Event Ever After™ gives our clients an opportunity to give back to the community as part of their meeting or event. It extends the good spirit and impact of a meeting long after the closing speech and parting gifts. Imagine how much the effect of your meeting would be enhanced if your guests took back the memory of an experience that changed lives – theirs and those of people who their efforts touched. Valuable relationships are inevitably built within your team and with a cause. Whether it’s assembling 100 bicycles for under-resourced kids, painting a playground or refurbishing a community park, you can leave your destination community better than it was when your group came to town! For more information on both these programs please contact us at 630-443-4300 or khuben@mocandco.com. Request for meeting and event proposal |
